Colin McElwain - Lower Hutt
Colin is a Director of Cuttriss Consultants in Lower Hutt. Graduating university with a BSurv in 1984 he joined the Company then named Cuttriss McKenzie Martin Ltd for 6 years. He spent four years in London as a highways engineer before returning in 1994, going on to become Director in 1998. Colin joined the LPMS board in 2003 and specialises in land development consultancy, and preparation of resource consent applications. He is also a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor, Registered Professional Surveyor, and a member of the NZIS. Colin is the Chairman of the Executive.

Alan Stewart – Christchurch
Alan is the Managing Director of Alan Stewart Property Services Limited and joined the LPMS Board in 2002. A graduate of Lincoln University with a Diploma in Valuation and Farm Management (VFM), he is a Registered Valuer. Alan provides a wide range of property valuation related consultancy, with a particular expertise in specialist rural and rural/residential matters. Specialist rural assignments include work on behalf of corporate clients, provision of evidence as an expert witness, and adjudication of property related disputes. Alan served as the National President of NZIV through 1997/98.

Brian Foote – Hastings
Director of The Surveying Company Hawkes Bay Ltd, Brian was appointed to the LPMS Board in 2000 and was appointed to the Surveyors Claims Committee as Chairman in 2003. Brian holds a Diploma in Surveying from Otago University and became a Registered Surveyor in 1976, going on to become a Registered Professional Surveyor in 2005. Brian specialises in Surveying and Land Development consulting, Cadastral Surveying, Business Management and Project Management. He is also a Member of Consulting Surveyors NZ.

Chris Abbey - Palmerston North
Chris is the Managing Director of Abacus QS Limited and joined the LPMS Board in 2008 bringing a vast amount of Construction Project & Cost Management experience. He holds a Certificate in Quantity Surveying [BSc QS (Natal)] He is a NZIQS Registered Quantity Surveyor. Chris has previously been an Associate of the South African Quantity Surveying Institute, was Marketing & Development Manager for Fletcher Development & Construction (Central Region) and an Associate with Davis Langdon (Quantity Surveyors).

Earl Gordon - Wellington
Earl is a Registered Valuer and is the Principal of Gordon Valuations. Earl joined the LPMS Board in 1984 and is also the Chair of the Professional Practice Committee for the Property Institute of New Zealand. Earl brings a wealth of experience to LPMS in Valuation, Arbitration and Property Consultantancy. Earl is a member of the LPMS Valuers Claims Committee.

Gary Clark – Auckland
Gary was appointed to the LPMS Board in 2005 and currently is the Chairman of Harrison Grierson Consultants Limited, having rejoined the company in 1986 and appointed Director in 2001. Gary became a registered Surveyor in 1981 and a Registered Professional Surveyor in 2005. His areas of expertise extends to Project Management, Cadastral Surveying, Unit Title subdivision, High Rise Building and Construction setout and Rentable Area Measurement. Gary was appointed a Board member of the Cadastral Surveyors Licensing Board from its inception in 2002, completing his term in early 2010. Gary is a member of the LPMS Surveyors Claims Committee.

Geoff Bates – Dunedin
Geoff is a Director of the Otago Surveying Company Ltd, having previously been a partner at DG Hatfield & Associates and joined the LPMS Board in 2002. He has been a Member of the Consulting Surveyors of NZ since 1989 and has been the southern rep on the CSNZ Management Committee since 2007. Geoff holds a Bachelor of Surveying and is a Licensed/Registered Professional Surveyor and brings extensive Surveying Consultancy and Business Management experience to LPMS.

Iain Gribble - Auckland
Iain joined the LMPS Board in 2007 and is the Director of Gribble Churton Taylor Ltd and has held various positions in the industry in the valuation department and in private practice. Iain holds a Diploma Urban Valuation, a Diploma in Business Studies (Dispute Resolution) and is a Registered Valuer. Iain is also Lay member of the Land Valuation Tribunal and also a member of the Professional Practices Committee - PINZ and past President of the NZIV. Iain’s LPMS expertise lies in Valuation Dispute Resolution.

Len Green - Tauranga
One of the longest serving LPMS Board members, Len is a Registered Valuer and is now semi-retired and continuing as Consultant to Hills Haden Ltd in Tauranga. Len joined the LPMS Board in 1984 and has had special interest in the Valuers Claims Committee, having been appointed as Convenor over the last five years. Len is also a member of the FPINZ and FNZIV. Len sits on the LPMS Valuers Claims Committee and has been appointed to the Land Valuation Tribunal.

Secretary Pat Sheehan – Lower Hutt
Pat is a Director at Kendons Chartered Accountants Ltd, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce & Administration and joined the LPMS Board as Secretary in 1998. As well as his LPMS appointment, Pat is also a member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants, is a Trustee of the Laura Ferguson Trust in Wellington and is also a Trustee of the Bougainville Library Trust.

Alex Haden - Tauranga
Alex is the Managing Director of Hills Haden Limited, Registered Valuers and Property Consultants, operating out of Tauranga. Alex has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Rural Valuation and Management) and a Diploma in Business Studies (Urban Valuation) from Massey University and is a Registered Valuer. He has been valuing in Tauranga since 1997. Alex is involved in valuations and consulting related to residential, rural and lifestyle properties in the Western Bay of Plenty area. Alex was appointed to the LPMS Board in 2010.

Prior to that she had 15 years experience in the Australasian insurance Market. |
