Membership

To be eligible for membership at least one principal of an applicant firm must be a member of one of the following professional bodies

  • New Zealand Institute of Surveyors
  • New Zealand Institute of Valuers
  • New Zealand Institute of Clerk of Works
  • New Zealand Institute of Forestry Inc (Recognised Consultant)
  • New Zealand Institute of Primary Industry Management
  • New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors Inc (Associate or Fellow)
  • New Zealand Planning Institute (Consultants Division)
  • New Zealand Property Institute

All applicants for membership must take cover under an LPMS Group Professional Indemnity Insurance Policy.

Applicants for membership must

  • Complete the LPMS Membership Application Form and return it to the Secretary together with the prescribed fee of $112.50.
  • Complete a Proposal Form and return it to Aon New Zealand Limited.

These forms are available from the Secretary or AON or by using the forms on the Application and Claim Form page on this site.

The membership applications are initially considered by the Membership Committee and later ratified by the LPMS Executive Committee. In considering membership applications, the Membership Committee make an assessment as to whether the applicant firm is likely to have excessive claims which might impact on LPMS funds.

Occasionally the Membership Committee may arrange to interview the applicant and may circulate notice of a membership application to an existing member or members seeking comment as to the applicant's suitability for membership. Comment received is treated in strict confidence.
