LPMS is a mutual society that facilitates risk management services.

We arrange policies with NZ based liability insurance companies, and are led by highly-qualified and experienced land professionals. LPMS is a voluntary risk management organisation that represents the interests of surveyors, quantity surveyors and valuers and kindred professions which is led by highly-qualified and experienced land professionals.

The LPMS Board has a minimum of six members, and must include two valuers and two surveyors. Our Board is made up of highly qualified and experienced specialists in their respective professions. They are elected by the membership of the society and serve a three year term. Additional board members can be appointed by the executive.

Nicola Todd

Nicola is a Director of Cuttriss Consultants in Kapiti and Lower Hutt.

Nicola is a Director of Cuttriss Consultants in Kapiti and Lower Hutt. Since graduating from Otago University with a BSurv (Hons) in 2001 she has worked primarily on the Kapiti Coast.  She joined Cuttriss in 2005 and became a Director in 2007.   Nicola has recently joined the LPMS board and specialises in land development consultancy including project management and support in engineering and consenting for land development projects.  She is a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor and a member of Consulting Surveyors NZ and Survey & Spatial NZ.

Susan is a Director at Kendons Chartered Accountants Ltd, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce & Administration and Bachelor of Laws.

Susan joined the LPMS Board as Secretary in 2021, and is also a member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants and admitted barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.

Outside of LPMS, Susan is an experienced accountant and specialist tax advisor.

Colin is a Director of Cuttriss Consultants in Lower Hutt. Graduating university with a BSurv in 1984 he joined the Company then named Cuttriss McKenzie Martin Ltd for 6 years. He spent four years in London as a highways engineer before returning in 1994, going on to became Director in 1998. Colin joined the LPMS board in 2003 and specialises is land development consultancy, and provides support in the design and consenting of land development projects. He is a Registered Professional Surveyor, and a member of Consulting Surveyors NZ and Survey & Spatial NZ.

Alan is the Managing Director of Alan Stewart Property Services Limited and joined the LPMS Board in 2002. A graduate of Lincoln University with a Diploma in Valuation and Farm Management (VFM), he is a Registered Valuer. Alan provides a wide range of property valuation related consultancy, with a particular expertise in specialist rural and rural/residential matters. Specialist rural assignments include work on behalf of corporate clients, provision of evidence as an expert witness, and adjudication of property related disputes.
Alan served as the National President of NZIV through 1997/98.

Neil Edwards

Neil Edwards is a director of Ortus International Limited in Wellington. Neil is a registered professional quantity surveyor and is an Associate Member of the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors. He has over 40 years' experience in the quantity surveying and cost control field and is a specialist in feasibility studies, project monitoring on behalf of financial institutions, insurance valuations, value management and cost planning. Neil has been director in charge of many landmark projects throughout New Zealand and has undertaken insurance valuations throughout South East Asia and in the United Kingdom. Currently, Neil is chairman of the Wellington Branch of the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors.

Bill Lindsay

Bill has spent his working career as a Registered Valuer, culminating with 30 years as Director/owner of his own public valuation practice. Bill initially trained as a Valuer with the Government in the late 1970’s and over the next decade, obtained Valuation Registration and worked in various valuation roles within Central and Local Government before obtaining overseas valuation experience with the Tasmanian State Government and Australian Federal Government. In late 1980’s, Bill entered public valuation practice, forming Lindsay Webb Valuations Ltd, which provided a full range of residential, lifestyle and commercial valuation services within the Hutt Valley. In 2016, Bill accepted a position on the Executive of LPMS, enjoying the chance of working with the wider range of dedicated Property Professionals. In 2018, Bill took an opportunity to retire, however he retains his interest in the property and valuation industry.​

Matt Taylor

Matt is a Founding Director of Gribble Churton Taylor Limited with over 30 years’ experience covering all property types and locations. Matt is a general practitioner in commercial, industrial and residential markets. Areas of interest and specialisation include dispute resolution and expert testimony including frequent involvement in mediation and adjudication hearings; appearance as an expert witness in Family, District and High Court hearings; together with being an expert arbitrator and umpire in arbitration hearings. Matt has been the former Auckland Branch Chairman of NZIV and PINZ and has been a speaker and presenter at property related functions and conferences. Matt is a keen sportsman and gains much enjoyment from watching his two sons in action playing rugby. He takes great delight in reading, travel and relaxing at his bach up north with his wife, family and friends.​

Seamus is a director of The Surveying Company (Hawke’s Bay) Limited. Seamus graduated with a BSc in physics in 1992 and graduated with a BSurv in 1998. He joined The Surveying Company in Pukekohe under Brian Foote in 1999 and remained there until 2004 when he joined Brian in Hawke’s Bay. Seamus specialises in surveying and land development consulting, cadastral surveying and project management. He is also a member of Consulting Surveyors NZ.

Elwin Sharp has been a quantity surveyor since 1987.

Elwin Sharp has been a quantity surveyor since 1987.

Since then, he has worked in New Zealand, England, Hong Kong, Dubai and India on projects ranging from minor domestic alterations to off-shore platforms, an airport, and commercial and industrial buildings, amongst a variety of others.

Residing in Havelock North, Elwin has run a QS practice, Sharp Consulting Ltd, from 2011 and is currently the Regional Board Member on the NZIQS National Board.

He is a Registered QS, Fellow of NZIQS and a member of NZIOB.​

Fraser is currently a Professional Practice Fellow in the School of Surveying at the University of Otago.

After graduating from Otago with a BSurv in 1997 and a BCom (Economics) in 1998, Fraser joined Landlink in Waikanae and became a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor in 2001.  In 2003, Fraser returned to Dunedin and was employed by Geoff Bates at D. G. Hatfields and Associates before accepting a lecturing position at the School of Surveying in 2004.  Fraser’s current areas of interest are Land Development Engineering, Project and Construction Management and Professional Practice.  He is a member of Survey & Spatial NZ.

Richard has been a Registered Valuer since 1996 and has worked primarily in the Canterbury Region.

His main areas of expertise are residential, lifestyle and insurance valuations.  He is a sole practitioner and has owned and operated his own business since 2006.

Richard lives in Christchurch near the beach and hills, and in his spare time enjoys mountain biking, skiing, hiking and time at the beach.

Richard is an Associate member of The New Zealand Institute of Valuers, Senior member of the Property Institute of New Zealand and a Registered Valuer holding an annual practicing certificate.

Gaynor Roberts

Gaynor is the Claims Manager in the Aon Professional Risks Division.

Gaynor is the Claims Manager in the Aon Professional Risks Division, and along with her team handles claims for LPMS and other professional clients.  She has over 30 years insurance experience with 16 years specialising in professional liability insurance and associated liability claims. Prior to joining Aon Gaynor was a multinational claims manager for a large UK based insurer in London.

Reuben is an Account Executive at Aon and provides day-to-day support to Tim and LPMS members.

Reuben has over 10 years’ experience in the insurance sector, the majority of which was gained in the Auckland market.  He has provided support and managed portfolios for both commercial and SME business teams for insurers and insurance brokers.
